GREETINGS from the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
This summer has been one of the hottest summers I can remember. I find it interesting that not only has the weather been unusually warm but the political world of Washington has been equally as warm! One wonders if the heat causes people to lose their ability to think clearly. What does the heat have to do with Hopewell? It reminds us that God is fully in control in all areas of life. He controls both the weather and the government. Not that we are excused from praying, voting and working! We at Hopewell strive to rejoice in the Lord at all times and in all circumstances. If you are looking for a church home, and would like to rejoice with us, take a look at some of the upcoming activities and schedule them into your life. Join us each Sunday at 10:30 for worship and teaching from the Word of God!. Look at some of the special activities coming this fall and make it a point to be at Hopewell. The air conditioner works, and we are learning to stay cool under pressure!
Pastor Mark Miller
A Backpack program is being organized thru M’town Meth. Church to assist the Clinton Central children who need food for the weekends. This will be a backpack filled with various foods to be sent home with the children on Friday for the weekend and they are to returnthe backpack on Monday so it can be refilled on Thurs. and be ready to send home again on Friday. They are asking for money donations and volunteers to help fill backpacks. It would cost anywhere from $6. to $10. to fill a backpack each week. One backpack per child for a school year would cost approx. $350. If you would like to donate to this project, please send donation to Michigantown Methodist Church 301 E. 3rd St.Michigantown, IN 46057. Note “Backpack Program” on your check.
